Who is Daniela Zarpellon, Vicenza private tour guide?
Daniela Zarpellon is a licensed tour guide in Vicenza, registered on the Elenco nazionale delle guide turistiche (National Register of Tour Guides) under no. 05000058 and working since 2008. Through Gira Vicenza she offers private and small-group tours in Italian, English and French: the historic centre, Palladio's palaces and villas, the Veneto, and educational itineraries for schools. She holds a university degree in languages and art history, kept up to date with specialist courses at Ca' Foscari University of Venice.
My approach: a city to understand, not just to see
Vicenza is a city that reveals itself slowly. Palladio's façades, the hidden courtyards and the villas on the hills take on meaning once you know the people who commissioned them, the ideas that inspired them and the landscape they were born into. That is what I try to convey: not a string of monuments, but a story in which architecture, history and everyday life hang together.
Every tour is private and tailor-made. First of all I listen: who is travelling, how much time you have, what you are passionate about, and any needs regarding pace or mobility. Then I suggest a realistic itinerary, with clear timings, and adapt it along the way if a question deserves more time or if someone needs a break.
Alongside art and architecture, I also love showing you everyday Vicenza: the food culture of the Vicenza area, walks in the hills and, if you wish, the city by bicycle or on an urban trek along less-trodden paths.

What being a licensed tour guide means
In Italy the tour guide profession is regulated by Legge 13 dicembre 2023, n. 190 (Law no. 190 of 13 December 2023), which established the Elenco nazionale delle guide turistiche (National Register of Tour Guides) at the Ministry of Tourism. Only those on the Register may offer paid guided tours: registration certifies a recognised professional qualification and allows the guide to work throughout Italy.
For travellers, choosing a licensed guide means some concrete guarantees:
- Identification: the guide holds a personal badge with a registration number, to be shown on request. Mine is no. 05000058.
- Transparency: the law requires clear information on the cost of the service, which I always provide before you confirm.
- Ongoing training: the regulations require periodic training to keep skills up to date.
- Integrity: like any professional, the guide follows ethical principles of reliability, respect for places and people, and accuracy of information.
All the information on terms, admission tickets and third-party services is gathered on the How it works and FAQ page.

Venice too: the sister site VeniceAround.it
If you would also like to discover Venice, its islands and the lagoon, I have a separate website: VeniceAround.it. The spirit is the same: private tours, carefully prepared and told with passion. Many guests combine the two cities in a single trip, as Vicenza is a short train ride from Venice.
